Independent Product Investigation
Paste any product URL. We investigate the claims, reviews, and brand honesty — and give you a clear verdict before you buy.
Each category has a purpose-built investigative framework — claim taxonomy, evidence sources, and manipulation pattern library. No shallow analysis.
Every Sherlock investigation runs the same rigorous five-part analysis — no dimension skipped, no shortcut taken.
Ingredient, specification, and efficacy claims checked against independent published evidence and third-party lab data.
Forensic pattern analysis — detecting fake positives, J-curve clustering, and coordinated competitor attacks across platforms.
Ads, influencer content, and PR audited for accuracy and compliance with ASA, ASCI, and FTC disclosure requirements.
Reddit, specialist forums, and organic sources — the channels hardest to manufacture or game — weighted highest.
Regulatory history, recalls, controversies, and track record across the brand's full product range.
Each investigation evaluates five dimensions on cited public evidence — the brand's own marketing, third-party lab data, regulator filings, Reddit and specialist forums, mainstream press, and platform-level review patterns. Every dimension scores 0–100. The overall score is a weighted average, with one safety net: if any single dimension scores below 30, the overall is capped at 49 regardless of the average. A product cannot appear "Adequate" overall while a serious red flag goes unweighted.
Sherlock is an independent investigation tool published by Slingso . We are not paid by the brands we investigate; we do not accept advertising on Sherlock pages. Reports are based on publicly available evidence gathered at the time of investigation. They are not legal determinations. If you spot something wrong in a report, every report has a "Report inaccuracy" button — we review every submission.
